Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American performer and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career performing in musicals including Wicked and Legally Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford grew up in a world of her professional career working with highly acclaimed actors and directors across stage as well as television. She continues that award-winning work with numerous forthcoming projects. Ashford's upcoming production will be an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22nd and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. This is set to be a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford returns to Broadway in 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The production team of Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the leading the show. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment inspired by the national crisis that swept to Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the nation's very first impeachment proceedings in over a century. For two seasons, she was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway performances comprise Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for that she won a Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and raised in Denver currently splits her time traveling between Los Angeles & New York.
